WELCOME TO WILLIAM ALFRED SUGGS MEMORIAL POST

Teamwork ~ Leadership ~ Commitment
As yesterday's defenders of freedom, we want to welcome today's military service members into our ranks to become part of our elite group.  Our common bond is the battlefield, whether it is service in the Persian Gulf, Korea, Kosovo, the war on terrorism or peace-keeping expeditionary campaigns. Your courage and sacrifice have made a difference in preserving and defending world peace.

The mission of Post 5277 is to provide support and assistance to veterans and their families during their times of need while connecting them to the benefits they have earned. We strive to build and maintain camaraderie among our members and strengthen our ties with the community. Our focus will be on recruiting younger veterans, both men and women, to carry on the mission and traditions of our post into the future. We aim to partner with other veteran organizations to ensure that veterans have access to all available resources and possess a voice within their community. We will work closely with community leaders to promote goodwill between veterans and citizens, fostering positive relationships within our community. Additionally, we seek to expand our presence to become more visible and actively engaged in surrounding communities.

Student Veterans of America

GI Bill benefits are the most widely utilized benefits available to veterans. Moreover, veterans on college campuses have demonstrated an eagerness to not only organize but to lead in their communities while pursuing higher education. By supporting the nearly 1 million student veterans on college campuses today, the VFW has a unique opportunity to not only showcase the amazing work of our organization, but we can also harness this leadership potential to grow our organization for future generations of veteran leaders.
